Suspension of a Residence Permit Denial

By order dated October 18, 2024, the Paris Administrative Court suspended the implicit rejection of a student residence permit application.

The judge found that the matter was urgent, as the decision prevented the applicant, enrolled in a professional bachelor’s degree program, from continuing his studies.

Moreover, the arguments alleging that the September 9, 2024 decision failed to fully consider the applicant’s circumstances and involved a misjudgment regarding his academic situation were deemed sufficient to raise serious doubts about the legality of the decision.

While awaiting a ruling on the merits, a temporary residence receipt (récépissé) will be issued to the applicant, allowing him to work. He will also be awarded €1,000 in legal costs.
